BROOKLYN, Ky. — Jeff Johnson, a cherished husband, son, brother, uncle, and friend, departed from this world on March 26, 2024, at the Medical Center in Bowling Green, Kentucky.

Born on July 20, 1973, in Bowling Green, Jeff’s life was characterized by his loving nature, kindheartedness, and generous spirit.

An alumnus of Butler County High School’s class of 1992, Jeff was known for his strong work ethic and determination. He furthered his education at Southern Kentucky Community and Technical College (SKYCTC) and then pursued his passion for craftsmanship at Green River Welding School. Jeff became a Certified Welder and put his skills to good use at Ritatsu Manufacturing in Beaver Dam, Kentucky, where he was respected for his professionalism and dedication.

Jeff’s passions extended beyond his professional life. He was an outdoorsman at heart, finding peace and contentment in farming, hunting, and fishing. But above all, Jeff’s heart belonged to his family. He loved his family deeply and unconditionally, and he considered spending time with them to be his greatest joy. His presence at family gatherings was a source of happiness and comfort, and his willingness to lend a hand or a listening ear was unparalleled.

Those who knew Jeff would describe him as loving, kind, and generous. These words truly capture the essence of a man who lived his life in service to the people he cared for. Jeff’s compassionate nature was evident in every interaction, and his ability to brighten the lives of others was one of his most remarkable qualities. Jeff Johnson’s life was a testament to the enduring power of love and kindness.

As we mourn his passing, we also celebrate the profound impact he had on each of us. Jeff’s memory will be carried forward in the stories shared by friends, the laughter of his family, and the countless lives he touched. Although he is no longer with us, his spirit will continue to inspire and guide us. The world was undoubtedly a better place with Jeff in it, and his absence will be deeply felt. However, the lessons he taught us through his example of compassion, generosity, and unwavering love will remain a comforting legacy for all who were privileged to know him.

As we say farewell to Jeff Johnson, we hold tight to the cherished memories and the love he left behind. His was a life well-lived, and he will be profoundly missed by all.

Jeff was preceded in death by his father, Billy Gene Johnson; uncle, Jerry Johnson; father-in-law, Harold Toomey; infant aunt, Earnestine Swift; and his paternal grandparents, Oval and Nelmo Johnson. Each of them held a special place in his heart, and he often spoke of them with fond remembrance.

Jeff leaves behind a loving family who will forever treasure his memory including his devoted wife of 22 years, Angela Toomey Johnson, of Brooklyn; beloved mother, Juileen Johnson, of Brooklyn; caring brother, Timmy Johnson and sister-in-law, Janet, of Brooklyn; his adored nephew, Brent Johnson, of Brooklyn; and cherished niece, Brittany Crandell and her husband, Calvin, along with their son and great-nephew, Timmothy Crandell, all of Brooklyn. Jeff also leaves behind his dear mother-in-law, Lois Toomey, of Huntsville, Kentucky; his supportive brother-in-law, Raymond Toomey and his wife, Jennifer, of Huntsville; his affectionate uncle, Hayward Swift, of Beaver Dam; and numerous fur babies who brought him immense joy.

His legacy of love and kindness will be felt by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 30, at 2 p.m. at the Jones Funeral Chapel with Bro. Tony Embry officiating. Burial will be in the Brooklyn Cemetery with Brent Johnson, Calvin Crandell, Raymond Toomey, B.J. White, Chris Toomey and Nick Toomey serving as pallbearers. Visitation will be held Saturday, March 30, from 10 a.m. until funeral time at 2 p.m. at the Jones Funeral Chapel.
