CALHOUN, Ky. — Tommy England, 81, of Calhoun, passed away Saturday, March 9, 2024, at Riverside Care and Rehabilitation Center in Calhoun. Thomas Wayne England was born Aug. 27, 1942, in McLean County, Kentucky, to the late George Tommie and Gladys Marie Coomes England, was married to Brenda Calhoun on April 28, 1962.
Tommy was a 1961 Graduate of Owensboro Catholic High School and a lifelong member of St. Sebastian Catholic Church in Calhoun. He retired as a foreman from the State Highway Department after 27 years of service.
Tommy enjoyed being with his family and friends, collecting and pulling antique tractors, camping at Diamond Lake, and was locally famous for cooking BBQ chickens.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother-in-law, David Vanover.
Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Brenda England; sons, Dwayne England (Tonya), of Owensboro, Kentucky, Scott England (Anita), of Calhoun, Steven England (Tammy), of Elberfield, Indiana, Jonathan England (Summer), of Abbeville, Alabama; daughters, Marcy Vanover (Troy), of Pleasant Ridge, Kentucky, Tracy Rafferty (Mike), of Beaver Dam, Kentucky; 21 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren; sister, Peggy Vanover, of Owensboro.
A memorial service will be held at 6 p.m. Tuesday, March 12, at Muster Funeral Homes, Calhoun Chapel. Friends may visit with Tommy’s family from 4 p.m. until 6 p.m. at Muster Funeral Homes, Calhoun Chapel.
Tommy’s service will be live-streamed at 6 p.m. Tuesday.
