BEAVER DAM, Ky. — Beverly Jean “BJ” Kessinger, 67, of Beaver Dam, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 20, 2024, with her family by her side in Charlotte, North Carolina. She was born Jan. 27, 1957, in Louisville, Kentucky, to the late William Allen and Evelyn Kiper Allen.
BJ was a strong presence in the FHG Mentorship Program when traveling with her husband and attended Taylormine Church when in Beaver Dam. Many may remember BJ from her days at Cowden’s Sewing Factory.
Aside from her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Randall “Rastus” Sutherland, and brother, Buddy Allen Kiper.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory, her husband and best friend, Jon Kessinger, of Beaver Dam; three sons, Brian (Glenda) Sutherland, of Owensboro, Kentucky, Willie (Lori) Sutherland, of Horse Branch, Kentucky, and Bobby (Serina) Sutherland, of Springfield, Kentucky; nine grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; two sisters, Tena Whitler, of Beaver Dam, and Shirley Calloway, of Beaver Dam; and two dogs, Roxy and Stormy.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, Feb. 26, at William L. Danks Funeral Home in Beaver Dam with Ben Wright officiating. Burial will follow in Sunnyside Cemetery in Beaver Dam. Friends may visit with BJ’s family from 10 a.m. until the time of the service Monday at the funeral home.
