BEAVER DAM, Ky. — Harrel D. Leach, 83, of Beaver Dam, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 20, 2024. He was born June 24, 1940, in Mount Pleasant, Kentucky, to the late James Claude Leach and Belvie Baize Leach.
Mr. Leach retired from Century Aluminum and was a member of Oak Grove Church of God where he led singing for over 20 years. He enjoyed gardening, fishing, and woodworking but his most enjoyment came from the time he spent with his family and friends.
Aside from his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 37 years, Barbara Elizabeth Schroader Leach, and siblings, Doris Jean Parks, Floyd Leach, Murlene Miller, Claudine Jones, Roger Leach, Larry Leach, and Charlotte White.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory, four children, Diane Burden, of Beaver Dam, Steven (Jackie) Leach, of Cromwell, Kentucky, Robert (Jennifer) Leach, of Cromwell, and Christopher (Carla) Leach, of Hartford, Kentucky; nine grandchildren, Andrea Leach New, Kyle (Kadi) Burden, Stacy (Adam) Taylor, Heather (Matt) Allen, Eric (Shelby) Leach, Cameron Leach, Gatlin Leach, Gentry Leach, and Garner Leach; eight great-grandchildren, Emma, Leah, Lydia, Kamryn, Gage, Everly, Kaylynn, and Karoline; and his best friend and twin brother, Darrel (Betty) Leach, of Beaver Dam.
Funeral services will be held at 12 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 24, at Oak Grove Church of God (10358 State Route 505 South, Cromwell, KY 42333) with Bro. Bobby Phelps and Rev. Eric Richardson officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery. Friends may visit with Mr. Leach’s family from 3 p.m. until 7 p.m. Friday at Oak Grove Church of God and from 9 a.m. until the time of the service Saturday at the church.
