Winter Weather Advisory issued for Ohio County

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for Ohio County and much of the surrounding area. The Winter Weather Advisory will begin at 11 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 18, and will expire at 6 p.m. Friday, Jan. 19.

According to the NWS, a wintry mix of snow, freezing rain, and plain rain is expected to develop across the region Thursday afternoon. Areas of freezing drizzle are expected Thursday evening followed by a period of light snow late Thursday night and into Friday morning. Total snow accumulations of 1 to 1.5 inches will be possible along with less than a tenth of an inch of ice.

Plan on slippery road conditions. The hazardous conditions could impact the Thursday afternoon commute and will likely result in negative travel impacts Thursday night and Friday morning. Slow down and use caution while traveling.
