OWENSBORO, Ky. — Alpha Helm Carter, of Owensboro, passed away on Saturday, Jan. 13, 2024, while under the care of Hospice of Western Kentucky. She was born in Ohio County, Kentucky, to the late Carl and Alice McKinley Helm.
She retired from the Hospital as the cafeteria manager.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Chester Carter; brother, Jimmy Helm; and two sisters, Nancy Huff and Betty Baughn.
Survivors include her sons, Morris Carter (Paulette) and Larry Carter (Shirley); daughter, Jeanne Kirk (Larry); 11 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; brothers, Bobby Helm and Tommy Helm (Yvonne); sisters, Deanie Cook (Bob) and Becky Benningfield (Neal); and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 18, at James H. Davis Funeral Home and Crematory. Visitation will be from 2 p.m. until the time of service on Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Owensboro Memorial Gardens at a later date.
