HARTFORD, Ky. — Sandra Bartlett Hendrick passed away Dec. 29, 2023. Sandra Dale Bartlett was born Dec. 9, 1938, in Hartford, to Lawrence D. and Martha Allen Bartlett of Hartford.

After graduating from Hartford High School Sandra attended Christian College, a school for young ladies in Columbia, Missouri. Sandra transferred back to Kentucky, finishing college at Kentucky Wesleyan in Owensboro, Kentucky.

After college, Sandra worked in her grandfather’s, Clarence Bartlett’s, law firm in Owensboro.

Sandra met Neal Thomas Hendrick, of Owensboro, in 1960. Neal graduated from UK as a chemical engineer and was working for Monsanto Company in St. Louis, Missouri. Sandra and Neal married Dec. 22, 1964, and moved to Galvaston, Texas, for Neal’s work. They were there for two years, moved back to St. Louis, and later moved to Kenner, Louisiana, for one and a half years and then back to St. Louis. They bought their home in Chesterfield, Missouri, living there until Neal’s death on Feb. 22, 2022.

Sandra was a member of the Chesterfield Christian Church, she was a member of the Fort Hartford DAR. Sandra and Neal loved to travel, they traveled all over the world, some places more than once.

After Neal’s passing, Sandra moved back to Hartford with their little dog “Widget.”

Sandra was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Neal, and her nephew, Gregory Allen Moore, of Hartford, on July 23, 2001.

She is survived by her aunt, Leta Allen Sheffield, of Bowling Green, Kentucky; brother, Clarence Dudley Bartlett, of Hartford; sister, Judith Bartlett Moore, of Hartford; nephew and caregivers, Robert Scott Moore and Sheri Newcom, of Hartford; niece, Carla Sue Hendrick, of Shepherdsville, Kentucky; niece, Rebecca Moore Mosgrove (Wm.), of Philpot, Kentucky; niece, Kayla Newcom, of Hartford; and several great nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Friday, Jan. 5, at Bevil Bros. Funeral Home in Beaver Dam with Eddie Embry officiating. Burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery in Hartford. Friends may visit with the family from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. Friday.

The family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to Ohio County Animal Shelter or Ohio County Hospice.
