Sandra L. ‘Sandie’ ‘Granny’ Tenace

HARTFORD, Ky. — Sandra L. “Sandie” “Granny” Tenace, 73, of Hartford, passed away Friday, Dec. 29, 2023, surrounded by her family in Evansville, Indiana. She was born July 8, 1950, in Woodbury, New Jersey, to the late Eldridge Bennett and Winifred Moore Bennett.

Sandie was a member of Centertown Holiness Church and dedicated many years to Audubon Area Head Start as a family advocate and teacher. To Sandie, a stranger was just a friend you hadn’t met yet.

Aside from her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Billy Bennett and Chuck Bennett.

Sandie leaves behind to cherish her memory, her lifetime friend and loving husband of three years, Daniel Tenace, of Hartford; two sons, Harry “J” (Tesha) Hermann, of Beaver Dam , Kentucky, and Zac (Lindsay) Hermann, of Evansville; eight grandchildren, William “Billy” Hermann, Destiny Hermann, Tyler Horn, Peyton Horn, Veyda Horn, Lilyian Hermann, Brady Dyche, and Madison “Maddie” Dych; five great-great grandchildren, Elizabeth, Ezekiel, Braylen, Copeland, and Gay Louise Hermann; as well as several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 5, at William L. Danks Funeral Home in Beaver Dam with Bro. Kenny Shephard officiating. Friends may visit with Sandie’s family from 3 p.m. until 7 p.m. Thursday and 9 a.m. until the time of the service Friday at the funeral home.
