Barbara Susanna (Vaal) Bennett

BEDA, Ky. — Barbara Susanna (Vaal) Bennett, 82, of Beda, beloved mother, grandmother, mother-in-law, and sister went to our Lord on Dec. 29, 2023.

Barbara was a member of Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in Beaver Dam. She retired from Young’s Manufacturing in Beaver Dam after 22 years of service. She was well known locally for her pecan pie which she always made upon request from family and her many friends. While she will be greatly missed, Barbara will live on in the hearts and minds of all who knew and loved her.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Allen Bennett, and two sisters, Dorothy Mae “Toots” (Leo, Junie) Gehlhausen and Bettye Lou (Leroy) Greulich.

Survivors include four sons, Richard Joseph Bennett (Ann), John Robert Bennett (Patsy), Stephen Wayne Bennett (Kim) and Mark Allen Bennett (Jennifer), and three siblings, Jerry Vaal, Tony Vaal (Linda), Toni Mundy. Barbara was blessed to have five grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren who she adored very much, and she loved her many nieces and nephews as well. Barbara was always quick to say how proud she was of her boys and their families.

A funeral mass will be held for Barbara at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 3, 2024, at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in Beaver Dam. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 2, 2024, at Bevil Bros. Funeral Home in Beaver Dam. Burial will be in Beulah Cumberland Presbyterian Cemetery in Beda, Kentucky.
