HARTFORD, Ky. — Nina Schroader Galloway, 88, passed away Wednesday, Dec. 27, 2023, at Heartford House in Owensboro. She was born in Ohio County on April 1, 1935, to the late James R. Coppage and Cliffie M. Patton Coppage.

She was a graduate of Hartford High School and Kentucky Wesleyan College.

Nina was a lifelong member of Hartford Baptist Church. Nina worked as editor of The Ohio County News in 1972 and also as a registered nurse at Ohio County Hospital where she retired after 17 years of service. She loved to travel the world and visited many countries.

She served as past president of Ohio County AARP, served on Ohio County Hospital Auxillary, and Secretary of the Ohio County Historical Society. She was a member of the Golden Partners, Lizzie Ford Chapter of Eastern Star, and Red Hat Society.

Survivors include, Kimberly Drake (Tommy); Twarara “Lollie” Alvey and Monyia Schroader; grandchildren, Laura Kent (Raleigh), Donny Alvey (Jessica), Jill Hall (J.R.), Daniel Alvey, Britney Keele (Trevor), Natalie Buchanan (Bryan) and Shaun Schroader (Lacey); 17 great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews; and long time friend, Logan Shown.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 30, at Bevil Bros. Funeral Home in Beaver Dam, Kentucky, with burial in Oakwood Cemetery in Hartford. Friends may visit with the family from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. Friday and 9 a.m. 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
