BEAVER DAM, Ky. — Verna Alice Gray, 80, of Beaver Dam, passed away Tuesday, Dec. 12, 2023, surrounded by her loving family. She was born Nov. 7, 1943, in Scottsville, Kentucky, to the late Joseph “JY” Yancy Bandy and the late Dorothy Alice Pearson.
In January 1969, she met Roy Lee Gray, the man who would become her life partner. Three months later they would marry and begin life together. They had two daughters, Alicia Daugherty and Rebecca Jones, both of Owensboro, Kentucky.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by a great-grandchild, Allen Daugherty.
Besides their two daughters, she is survived by four stepchildren, Larry Gray, David Gray, Sandy Sutphin, and Sue Keck, all from Tazewell, Tennessee; two grandchildren, Aletheia Kluesner (Dan), Christopher Stark (Brittany); many great-grandchildren; two sisters, Judy Bandy, of Arizona, and Janie Blunk, of Newburg, Indiana.
A memorial service will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 23, at Kingdom Hall in Beaver Dam.
