George T. ‘Georgie’ Gill

MORGANTOWN, Ky. — George T. “Georgie” Gill, 86, of Morgantown, passed away Tuesday, Nov. 28, 2023, at the Hospice House of Southern Kentucky in Bowling Green, Kentucky. Georgie was born Wednesday, March 31, 1937, in Butler County, Kentucky, to the union of the late Willie and Polly Peay Gill.

Georgie was a member of Bethel Missionary Baptist Church and a co-owner of Gill Brothers Logging. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and spending time with his family and his dog, Mitsy.

Besides his parents, Georgie is preceded in death by his wife, Gracie M. Doolin Gill; stepmother, Bernice B. Gill; three brothers, Everett, Dale, and Charlie Gill; and one sister, Marilyn Gill.

Georgie is survived by two sons, Tommy Gill (Tina), of Beaver Dam, Kentucky, and Mike Gill (Becky), of Morgantown; three grandchildren, Dakota Gill (Jessica), of Hartford, Kentucky, Hayden Gill, of Morgantown, and Ethyn Gill, of Morgantown; one brother, Harold Gill (Alice), of Morgantown; five sisters, Sue Stockton (Bill), of Huntsville, Kentucky, Carmen Gill, of Cleburne, Texas, Patricia Johnson, of Morgantown, Kathy Whitaker (Barry), of Morgantown, and Phyllis Drake (Robert), of Rochester, Kentucky; several nieces and nephews; and his beloved dog, Mitsy.

All services are private with burial in the Rochester Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of the Jones Funeral Chapel.
