BEAVER DAM, Ky. — Delois Rae (Kitchens) Nanney, 90, of Beaver Dam, passed away peacefully at Ohio County Healthcare on Tuesday, Nov. 28, 2023. She was born May 1, 1933, in Ohio County, Kentucky, to the late Charles and Della Peach Kitchens.
Rae retired from General Electric in Owensboro, Kentucky, where she worked for 37 years. She was a member of Cool Springs Baptist Church.
Aside from her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Leniual “LC” Nanney; her son, Gary Nanney; a grandson, Cody Nanney; brothers, Roger Kitchens, Lyndell Kitchens; and infant brother, Wyndell Kitchens.
She is survived by her daughter, Judy Ray, of Beaver Dam; three sisters, June Ward, Rita Marshall, and Barbara Sheler; grandson, Josh (Amanda) Wright; granddaughters, Miranda Hall, Megan (Saxton) Schmidt, grandson, Cory (Kara) Nanney; and 10 great-grandchildren, Jaxton and Zoey Wright, Makayla and Noah Fulkerson, Sage, Cooper and Conrad Schmidt, Jakory, Kingston and Bexley Nanney.
The family would like to express their thanks to Home Sweet Home Care and Mandy Logsdon for such special care for Rae over the last few years.
Funeral Services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 3, at William L. Danks Funeral Home in Beaver Dam with Bro. Jerry Alexander and Josh Wright officiating. Burial will follow in Cool Springs Baptist Church Cemetery. Friends may visit with Rae’s family from 10 a.m. until the time of the service on Sunday at the funeral home.
