John Anthony ‘Tony’ Critchelow

HARDINSBURG, Ky. — John Anthony “Tony” Critchelow, 49, passed on Sunday, Nov. 26, 2023, at UofL Hospital, surrounded by his family. He was born in Hardinsburg on Sept. 25, 1974, to Hobart and Doris Jean Critchelow.

Tony was an avid UK fan and enjoyed being in the outdoors, whether hunting, fishing, camping, or spending time on the lake. He was a member of St. Romuald Catholic Church and was employed at Domtar.

He is preceded in death by his father, Hobart Critchelow; brother, Jerry Critchelow; sister, Patsy Critchelow; and nephew, Brad Critchelow.

He is survived by his soulmate, Stephanie Shalosky; his children, Cody (Paige) Critchelow, Cole Critchelow, Paul, Susan, and Phillip and Patrick Shalosky, of Hardinsburg; his grandchildren, Lou Bowlin, Kash, and Leo Critchelow, of Hardinsburg; his mother, Doris Jean Critchelow, of McDaniels, Kentucky; siblings, Terry (Doug) Moorman, of McQuady, Kentucky, Gail Critchelow, of Hartford, Kentucky, Kevin (Javonda) Critchelow, of Gallatin, Tennessee; Annette (David) Lucas, of Big Springs, Kentucky, Theresa (Tommy) Weatherholt, of Cloverport, Kentucky, Sandy (Lamar) Carter of McDaniels, Brenda (Jeff) Bradshaw, of Prospect, Kentucky, Raymond (Missy) Critchelow, and Patrick (Kari) Critchelow, of Hardinsburg; as well as many nieces and nephews and their families.

Funeral services will be held at St. Romuald Catholic Church on Wednesday, Nov. 29, at 11 a.m. with burial in the St. Anthony Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the church on Tuesday, from 3 p.m. until 8 p.m. and Wednesday from 9 a.m. until 11 a.m.
