KSP identify victim in 45-year-old cold case

LONDON, Ky. — Kentucky State Police Post 11 London has positively identified remains found nearly 45 years ago with the help of advanced fingerprint identification technology.

Recently, KSP Detective James Royal, with the help of the KSP and FBI Laboratories, utilized the National Missing and Unidentified Persons System fingerprint database, in an attempt to identify the victim in an ongoing murder investigation.

KSP Post 11-London, after notifying the next of kin, announced they have positively identified the man as Michael Murray. Murray was originally from Atlanta, Georgia, but was believed to have been living in California around the time of his death.
