DUNDEE, Ky. — Shirley Richards Boswell, 88, of Dundee, passed away quietly on Nov. 7, 2023, at her home. She was born June 7, 1935, to the late Rolla Richards and the late Flossie Matthews Richards in Fordsville, Kentucky.
She graduated WKU with a business degree and would use that degree in several of her jobs including G.E., Bank of Dundee, and retired from the Ohio County Clerk’s office. She was married for 52 years to the late Earl Franklin Boswell. To this union, two children, Alex Todd and Deanna were born. While she was a farmer’s wife, she was so much more. She proudly wore many other hats such as mother, grandma, and friend.
Besides her parents and husband, she is preceded in death by three brothers and three sisters.
She is survived by her children, Alex Todd Boswell and wife, Teresa, and Deanna Simmons and husband, Timmy; eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren; two sisters-in-law, Bonnie Richards and Alice Boswell; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 11, at Hartford Memorial Funeral Chapel. Funeral service will be 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 11, at Hartford Memorial Funeral Chapel with burial in the Oakwood Cemetery in Hartford.
