LEITCHFIELD, Ky. — Ronald “BB” McKenney, 79, of Leitchfield passed away Tuesday, Oct. 31, 2023, at Baptist Health Hardin County. He was born July 8, 1944, in Ohio County, Kentucky, to the late Marshall McKenney and Nellie Marie Johnson McKenney.
BB retired from General Motors and was an avid UK Basketball fan as well as supporting local school sports. He served in the United States Army during Vietnam.
Aside from his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Donald McKenney; two sisters, Joann Terrell and Margaret McKenney; and a nephew, Dennis Terrell.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory a son, Kevin (Vickie) Pennington, of Leitchfield; grandson, Brain (Jesinda) Lewis, of Leitchfield; brother, Arnold McKenney, of Beaver Dam, Kentucky; two sisters, Alice Porter, of Cromwell, Kentucky, and Carolyn Westerman, of Owensboro, Kentucky; two nieces, Nelda (Ben) Henderson and Beth Ann McKenney; nephew, Ray McKenney; and niece at heart, Judy Prewett.
A private family memorial service will be held at a later date.
