BEAVER DAM, Ky. — Kenneth L. Gabbard, 79, of Beaver Dam, passed away Friday, Oct. 27, 2023, in Hartford, Kentucky. The Ohio County native was born to the late Leonard J. Gabbard Sr. and the late Laura Pearl Lloyd Gabbard on March 6, 1944.

In March of 1966, he joined the Marine Corps where he would serve his country in Vietnam. After three years of service, he would return home to Ohio County, Kentucky. He held several jobs, a dispatcher for the Courier-Journal in Louisville, and eventually became a self-employed truck driver.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his only daughter, Sheila Gramlin; sister, Carol Rhea Gabbard; brother, Stanley Gabbard; and sister-in-law, Deloris Gabbard.

He is survived by two grandchildren, David Gramlin and Diana Gramlin; two brothers, Leonard J. Gabbard Jr. (Betty) and Eddie Gabbard; a sister, Lana Moseley (Paul); and three great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends 10 a.m. CT, Tuesday, Oct. 31, at Hartford Memorial Funeral Chapel. The funeral service will be 2 p.m. CT, Tuesday, Oct 31, at Hartford Memorial Funeral Chapel with burial in the Carson Cemetery, Hartford, Kentucky. Military rites will be performed by the Amvets Post KY 0117.
