OHIO COUNTY, Ky. — Ohio County’s kids today have got it made when it comes to Halloween. When I was a kid we had to spend hours traipsing from house to house hoping to fill our bags with candy. And if you put in the work, you could do it. These days, a kid can make just a few stops for a few minutes and not only fill their bag, but fill their BAGS over the course of several days. It’s quite infuriating for an old dude who loves tricks and treats
Ohio County has embraced the Trunk-or-Treat phenomenon in a big way. The embrace is so large, that rather than post every event we’ve been made aware of, I decided to just put them all in this giant schedule.
As you will see, there’s a Halloween bonanza available to the children of this fair county. I hope your kids realize Trunk-or-Treats are a bigger Halloween gift than anything the Great Pumpkin could bring them.
I do realize, however, for the parents, this must be a massive pain in the neck, like a Dracula-sized pain in the neck. Getting the kids wrangled, dressing them up and taking them out to beg for candy several nights this week. But, it comes just once a year and when the little goblins go to sleep, you too will be able to get in on the action by raiding their stash for the pick of the candy litter. So, in a way, everyone wins.
Below is a list of all the Trunk-or-Treat events around the county. These are the events we know of, there could be others, so keep a sharp lookout.

Friday, Oct. 27
5:30-7:30 p.m. – Signature Healthcare of Hartford’s Trunk-or-Treat at 114 E. McMurtry St. in Hartford.
Saturday, Oct. 28
9 a.m.-noon – 3rd Annual Trunk-or-Treat Car Show at the Ohio County Park at 2300 KY 69 N in Hartford.
Noon-2 p.m. – Oak Grove Church of God Trunk-or-Treat at 10358 KY 505 S in Cromwell.
1-4 p.m. – Pond Run Baptist Church’s Family Fun Day at 1352 Pond Run Church Road in Beaver Dam.
2 p.m. – Pleasant Ridge Church of God’s Fall Festival at 11 Boling Road in Utica.
2-4 p.m. – Echols Daystar Church of God Trunk-or-Treat at 5508 KY 1245 in Beaver Dam.
2-7 p.m. – McHenry Fall Bash at the McHenry Community Park.
3-5 p.m. – Green River Baptist Church Trunk-or-Treat at 7589 U.S. 231 S in Cromwell.
4 p.m. – New Zion Missionary Baptist Church’s Autumn Festival at 6990 KY 505 S in Baizetown.
