BEAVER DAM, Ky. — Glenis Maxine Gwynn, 77, left her earthly home on Thursday, Oct. 5, with her family by her side after a long and courageous battle with cancer. She was born Oct. 18, 1945, to the late Dee and Ruby Elmore.
Maxine loved her family and was a friend to all who knew her. She attended Centertown Baptist Church and enjoyed listening to Bro. Scott’s services. She had an amazing crafty eye and loved to create.
She loved the beach and to travel, even if it was only to camp at Doug’s favorite spot on Fisherman’s Row. She never said no to a good yardsale or Goodwill run to search for hidden treasures.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory, her loving husband of 59 years, Stephen “Doug” Gwynn; her truly favorite children, the dynamic chihuahua duo of Chico and Thumper; her two favorite daughters, Jenny (David) Hamilton and Stephanie (Jason) Hoskins, both of Centertown, Kentucky; her two amazing granddaughters, Lauren Hoskins and Sydney Hamilton; two sisters, Linda (Glen) Brown, of Robards, Kentucky, and Janie Caroleene Burgess, of Kell, Illinois; along with several nieces and nephews.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 7, at Bevil Brother’s Funeral Home in Beaver Dam. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the time of service with Bro. Scott Fleener officiating. Burial will be in Central Grove Church Cemetery.
