FORDSVILLE, Ky. — Wanda Maybeth Smith, 87, of Fordsville, died Thursday, Sept. 28, 2023, at Ohio County Healthcare. She was born in Centertown, Kentucky, to the late Marion and Maggie Hurt.
She was a homemaker and a member of Providence Baptist Church. Maybeth enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren, crossword puzzles, The Game Show Network, her flowers, and gardening.
She was preceded also in death by her husband, Harold Dean Smith; brothers, James Hurt and William Hurt; and a granddaughter, Sarah Beth Slack.
Survivors include two sons, Harold David Smith, of Fordsville, Kentucky, and William Thomas (Kristi) Smith, of Hartford, Kentucky; three daughters, Paula Ann (Dwayne) Jameson, of Beaver Dam, Kentucky, Kathleen (Craig) Bell, of Van Buren, Ohio, and Lori Beth (Jennifer) Smith, of Owensboro, Kentucky; grandchildren, Jodi (J.R.), Casey (Karissa), Kent (Tacia), Kaelan (Alyssa), Becca (Brad) and Brandon; great-grandchildren, Adalyn, Asher, Layla, Camden, Kade, Winslow, and Finn; brother, Tom Hurt, of Evansville, Indiana; former son-in-law, Keith Slack, of Prentiss, Kentucky; former daughter-in-law, Bridget Young, of Owensboro; several nieces and nephews; and family friend, Suzi.
Funeral services are 11 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 4, at Providence Baptist Church, Fordsville, with burial in Smith Family Cemetery. Visitation will be 4p.m. until 8 p.m. Tuesday and from 9 a.m. until service time Wednesday at the church.
