CROMWELL, Ky. — Paul Russell Taylor, 82, of Cromwell passed away Sept. 29, 2023, at Hospice of Southern Kentucky in Bowling Green, Kentucky. He was born March 16, 1941, in Cromwell to the late Myrl B. and Virginia Sandefur Taylor.

He was a member of the Liberty Methodist Church.

Paul retired from Peabody Coal Company and served nine years in the Army Reserves. He enjoyed bird hunting and spending time with his grandkids.

Aside from his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Yvonne Manley Taylor; his two sisters, Wanda “Joy” Johnson and Anna Jane “Janie” Phelps; and two brothers, Myrl Taylor Jr. and William M. Taylor.

Paul leaves behind two daughters, Sharon (Marvin) Daugherty, of Olaton, Kentucky, and Sandy (Tony) Birchwell, of Beaver Dam, Kentucky; and sister, Carolyn (Paul) Stewart, of Mooresville, Indiana. Mr. Taylor was blessed with five grandchildren, Seth (Anna) Daugherty, of Clarksville, Tennessee, Miranda Mellott, of Beaver Dam, Matthew (Sydney) Daugherty, of Cromwell, Taylor Birchwell, of Reidland, Kentucky, and Logan Birchwell, of Beaver Dam; and three great-grandchildren, Maverick Mellott, Margaret Daugherty, and Aiden Daugherty.

Funeral services will be held Sunday, Oct. 1, at 2 p.m. at Bevil Bros. Funeral Home in Beaver Dam with Bro. Tim Smith officiating.

Burial will follow in Green River Baptist Cemetery in Cromwell. Friends may visit with Mr. Taylor’s family from 10 a.m. until funeral time at the funeral home.

Family requests expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to Hospice of Southern Kentucky. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
