JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Janice Marie Schroader, 80, of Jacksonville, passed away Friday, Aug. 11, 2023. She was born May 6, 1943, in Ohio County, Kentucky, to the late Welsie Embry and Lorena Small Mason.
She was a beautician and a member of Beaver Dam Baptist Church. Mrs. Schroader enjoyed spending time with her family, playing Bridge, Red Hat Society, shopping, and dinner dates with the love of her life.
Aside from her parents, she was preceded in death by two grandsons, Bryan Edward Hughes and John Matthew Smith, and a sister, Brenda Stevens.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory, her husband of 62 years, Hugh Edward Schroader, of Jacksonville; three children, Eddie (Jeanine) Schroader, of Jacksonville, Lysa Powell (Joe Pride), of Jacksonville, and Montye (Gene) Redmond, of Louisville, Kentucky; four grandchildren, Steffany Bennington, Zachary Nall, Tre (Haley) Schroader, and Nick Schroader; and six great-grandchildren, Daylynn Hogan, Bryan T. Smith, Darian Scrogham, Amiyah Miles, Jack, Harper, and Peyton Schroader.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Aug. 18, at William L. Danks Funeral Home in Beaver Dam, Kentucky, with Dr. Glenn Armstrong officiating. Burial will follow in Sunnyside Cemetery in Beaver Dam. Friends may visit with Mrs. Schroader’s family from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. Thursday and 9 a.m. until the time of the service Friday at the funeral home.
