HORSE BRANCH, Ky. — Henry Clay Stewart, 83, of Horse Branch, passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Friday, Aug. 4, 2023, at Ohio County Healthcare. He was born March 11, 1940, in Mt. Pleasant, Kentucky, to the late Willard Stewart and Christeen Hayse Stewart.
Henry enjoyed his chickens and trading pocket knives. It was common to see him walking in Horse Branch for exercise.
Aside from his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Lou Stewart; infant daughter, Henryetta Stewart; infant sister, Betty Sue Stewart; sister, Jo Nell Stewart; and brother, William Stewart.
He leaves behind to treasure his memory, two sons, Eddie Stewart, of Horse Branch, and Donald Stewart, of Dundee, Kentucky; and stepdaughter, Sharon Stewart, of Dundee; three grandchildren, Sevelle Stewart, Donald Stewart, and Charles Stewart; nine siblings, Gene Stewart, of Rosine, Kentucky, Jessie Stewart, of Mt. Pleasant, Terry Stewart Johnson, of Hartford, Kentucky, Phyllis Stewart Ashford, of Louisville, Kentucky, Jewel Stewart Simpson, of Louisville, David Stewart, of Rosine, Rossie Stewart, of Horse Branch, Michael (Patty) Stewart, of Horse Branch, and Judele Stewart Stone, of Beaver Dam; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 8, at William L. Danks Funeral Home in Beaver Dam. Burial will follow in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Mt. Pleasant. Friends may visit with Henry’s family from 10 a.m. Tuesday until the time of service at the funeral home.
