ECHOLS, Ky. — Larry Ray Barnett, 66, of Echols, went to see Jesus on Monday, June 26, 2023, with his family by his side at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital. He was born July 2, 1956, in Linton, Indiana, to the late Roy Barnett and Betty Vincent Barnett.
Larry retired from Armstrong Coal Company and was superintendent for Hartford Rock Quarry. He was a member of Echols Day Star Church of God.
Aside from his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Rita Cooprider.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory, his loving wife of 33 years, Vicky Barnett, of Echols; four children, Chris Barnett, of Tipton, Indiana, Amanda (Dan) Baumumk, of Terre Haute, Indiana, Kelli (Kenny) Bishop, of Tipton, Indiana, and Sheena Cook, of Morgantown, Kentucky; two brothers, Roy (Cindy) Barnett, of Columbiana, Ohio and Steven (Angie) Barnett, of Linton, Indiana; father- and mother-in-law, Hillard and Athelene Farris, brother-in-law, Robbie (Beth) Farris; sister-in-law, Amanda Farris; mother-at-heart, Betty Shaver; dear friend, Richard Pillow; and several nieces and nephews and a host of friends.
A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, July 1, at William L. Danks Funeral Home in Beaver Dam, Kentucky, with Rev. Betty Shaver and Rev. Michael Decker officiating. Burial will follow in Echols Cemetery in Echols. Friends may visit with Larry’s family from 10 a.m. until the time of the service Saturday at the funeral home.
