**UPDATE** MADISONVILLE, Ky. — The Kentucky State Police have reported Chad Allan Thomas is back in custody.

MADISONVILLE, Ky. — Troopers with Kentucky State Police Post 2 are searching for an inmate who walked away from a work program at 3 Rivers Farm on Beulah Rd. Thursday afternoon.
Around 5 p.m., Chad Allan Thomas, 35, walked away from the work site and didn’t return. He was serving out a sentence for possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, receiving stolen property and other charges.
Thomas’ direction of travel is unknown at this time. He is described as a white male with green eyes and brown hair. He is around 5’10” tall and weighs about 230 pounds.
