HARTFORD, Ky. — The Ohio County Sheriff’s Office is warning citizens to be on the lookout for a scam making its way around the county.
According to Ohio County Sheriff Adam Wright, his office has been made aware of a rental listing scam that’s hit Ohio County. The online scammers are posting photos of homes that are actually for sale, but claiming the home is for rent. The scammers then ask for a deposit for the “rental.”
Be cautious when dealing with posts listing homes for rent.
