OWENSBORO, Ky. — Tuesday, June 6, 2023, the Green River District Health Department reported that in the previous month, it had investigated 213 new COVID-19 infections; 120 in Daviess County, five in Hancock County, 38 in Henderson County, eight in McLean County, 14 in Ohio County, 10 in Union County, and 18 in Webster County.
There were 16 COVID-19-related deaths reported in the previous month. The COVID-19-related deaths were seven residents of Daviess County, three residents of Henderson County, three residents of McLean County, two residents of Ohio County, and one resident of Webster County.
With the two Ohio County deaths last month, 125 Ohio Countians have died due to COVID-19 complications.
The average number of new cases in the district for that period was 6.9 new cases a day. The newly reported cases were investigated between May 1-31, 2023.
COVID-19 Community Levels are no longer being calculated due to the end of the COVID-19 Public Health Emergency on May 11, 2023. This change is part of the transition from the PHE phase of the COVID-19 response to sustainable public tracking and surveillance of severe illness.

- Get tested if you have symptoms.
- Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds; use hand sanitizer if you do not have access to soap and water.
- You may choose to wear a mask at any time.
- Cover coughs and sneezes.
- Anyone with symptoms, a positive test, or exposure to someone with COVID-19 should wear a mask. Additional precautions may be needed for people at high risk for severe illness.
