MORGANTOWN, Ky. — Thomas Ray Brown, 86, of Morgantown, passed away Thursday, June 1, 2023, at the Morgantown Care & Rehab. Thomas was born on Friday, Sept. 25, 1936, in the Quality Community of Butler County, Kentucky, to the late Yonnie “Bob” Brown Hawks and husband of the late Betty Agnes Embry Brown.

He was a member of Morgantown Church of Christ and a United States Army Veteran. Thomas worked as a hardware store clerk at Sally Tuck Hardware, Cookies Hardware, and Tomes Building Supply over the years. He enjoyed gardening and traveling with his wife and son.

Other than his mother and wife he is preceded in death by his son, Stacy L. Brown.

Thomas Ray Brown is survived by three sisters, Fredia Bunger, of Olaton, Kentucky, Linda Diana Coy, of Roundhill, Kentucky, and Dorothy Brown, of Morgantown, and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at the Jones Funeral Chapel Monday, June 5, at 11 a.m. with Bro. Johnny Kelton officiating. Burial will be in the Christian Home Cemetery where military rights will be presented by the Ohio County AM VETS. Visitation will be held on Sunday, June 4, from 4:30 p.m. until 8 p.m. and Monday 8 a.m. until funeral time at 11:00am at the Jones Funeral Chapel.
