Ursuline Sisters who served Ohio County celebrating jubilees

MAPLE MOUNT, Ky. — Two Ursuline Sisters of Mount Saint Joseph who served in Ohio County are celebrating jubilees of religious profession in 2023.

Sister Luisa Bickett

Sister Louis Marie “Luisa” Bickett is celebrating 75 years of religious life. A native of Roseville, Kentucky, she was an educator for 24 years in New Mexico, Chile and Kentucky. She was a pastoral minister in Chillán, Chile, from 1975-83. She served in pastoral outreach at Holy Redeemer Church in Beaver Dam from 1984-87 and in outreach to mostly Hispanic populations in the Horse Branch area from 1987-2013. From 2013-19 she was a quilter for the Ursuline Sisters Quilt Club.

She is retired at the Motherhouse and is active in the Powerhouse of Prayer.

Sister Clarita Browning

Sister Clarita Browning is also celebrating her 75th year of religious life. She is a native of Calvary, Kentucky. After teaching for 39 years in Kentucky, Sister Clarita was a pastoral associate and director of religious education at St. John the Baptist Parish, in Fordsville,from 2000-2002.

She, too, is retired at the Motherhouse and active in the Powerhouse of Prayer.
