OWENSBORO, Ky. — Owensboro Community and Technical College’s Air Conditioning Technology program will host an event for alumni and industry partners from 5:30 – 7:30 p.m. Thursday, April 13, in the Industry Innovation Center on the main campus of OCTC at 4800 New Hartford Road, Owensboro.

Prospective partner companies, students, alumni, and community members may attend. Industry partners may request a table to recruit new hires or offer internships during the event.

“We want the current students to meet the alumni and to be able to network with the industry partners. We also want to be able to demonstrate some of our new trainers and equipment,” said Larry Stone, program coordinator.

OCTC’s Air Conditioning Technology program is designed to provide training in the repair, installation, and maintenance of heating, air conditioning, and refrigeration equipment. Students learn skills needed to install and repair equipment ranging in size and complexity from small self-contained units to large commercial systems.

In addition to classroom instruction, students have shop experiences designed to enhance their skills. Students may select from three Associate in Applied Science degree tracks, which may be earned in as little as two years if attending full-time. The program also allows students to earn multiple certificates and a diploma along the way, and those students can return anytime to complete additional credentials.

OCTC staff will be on hand to answer questions related to program applications, college enrollment requirements, and financial assistance.

Refreshments will be served. RSVP by April 10, by clicking here.
