**UPDATE** HARTFORD, Ky. ( 3/31/23) — The Boil Water Advisory for the Echols area has been lifted, according to Ohio County Water District General Manager Eric Hickman. The Kentucky Division of Water decided to lift the Boil Water Advisory Thursday.

HARTFORD, Ky. — A Boil Water Advisory has been lifted for customers along Nineteen School Rd., Scottown Rd., Fulkerson Rd., Pond Run Church Rd., Shaver Saling Ln., a portion of KY 1245, and Echols Church Ln. Around 142 customers are served by the Ohio County Water District in this area.

According to OCWD General Manager Eric Hickman, distribution crews completed an emergency repair on a 6″ mainline that feeds the Echols area. The leak began around 6 p.m. Tuesday and was soon isolated.

Due to the size of the affected area, it wasn’t feasible for OCWD crews to visit customers door to door placing doorknob hangers, especially during this time of the night for safety precautions.

Customers of the OCWD with additional questions can contact the office at 270-298-7704.
