Darrell ‘Big D’ Chandler

MORGANTOWN, Ky. — Darrell “Big D” Chandler, 58, of Morgantown, passed away Thursday, Feb. 9, 2023, at the Morgantown Care & Rehab. Darrell “Big D” was born on Wednesday, May 20, 1964, in Franklin, Kentucky, to the late James and Jonell Crawford Chandler who survives.

He was a former employee of Pig Improvement Corporation and enjoyed being outdoors, fishing, and talking to people. Big D never met a stranger.

Other than his father he is preceded in death by one brother, Gary Chandler.

Darrell “Big D” Chandler is survived by one son, Anthony “Tony” Chandler, of Indiana; mother, Jonell Chandler, of Franklin; four stepchildren, Amy Ontiveros, of Clarksville, Tennessee, Adam Vincent, of Columbia, Kentucky, Amber Martin (Jake), of Morgantown, and Aaron Phelps, of Beaver Dam, Kentucky; 12 step-grandchildren; two sisters, Patty Thompson (Malcom), of Scottsville, Kentucky, and Kimberly Huffines (Ricky), of Franklin; two brothers, Sam Chandler (LouAnn), of Woodburn, Kentucky, and Timmy Chandler (Beverly), of Franklin; and several nieces and nephews.

Memorial services will be held at the Blackjack Baptist Church in Franklin on Tuesday, Feb. 14, at 1 p.m. with Bro. Winston Roberts officiating. Burial will be in the Blackjack Church Cemetery. Visitation will be on Tuesday from 11 a.m. until service time at 1 p.m. at the Blackjack Baptist Church.
