BEAVER DAM, Ky. — John Carl (Hoppie) King, 75, of Beaver Dam, went to his heavenly home on Nov. 6, 2022, surrounded by his loved ones at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital. He was born Oct. 22, 1947, in Pleasant Ridge, Kentucky, to the late Noble Nave and Helen Irene Thomasson King.
John attended Centertown Baptist Church. He enjoyed playing cards, his horse racing game, reading, and watching westerns. He proudly served in the United States Marine Corps.
Aside from his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, April King; two brothers, Darrell King and Richard King; and one sister, Nancy Forney.
Survivors include his girlfriend, Carol Karnes, of Beaver Dam; daughter, Carrie Ann King, of Griffin, Indiana; brother at heart, Mark (Lois) Wortham, of Centertown, Kentucky; and two sisters, Laural May and Dorothy Berbesque.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 9, at William L. Danks Funeral Home in Beaver Dam with Bro. Scott Fleener officiating. Burial will follow in Mount Carmel Cemetery in Utica, Kentucky. Friends may visit with John’s family from 9 a.m. until the time of the service Wednesday at the funeral home.
