
He started work at a young age. He enjoyed watching Western movies and listening to music. Dairl played lead guitar in a band and later performed in a gospel group. Dairl worked as an independent logger for a number of years and later worked at Purdue Farms, where he would later retire.
Aside from his parents, he is preceded in death by his son, James Lee Dockery on Aug. 4, 2001, and several brothers and sisters.
Dairl is survived by his daughter, Tabitha Marie Cooper; a son, Dairl Paxton Dockery Jr.; nine grandchildren, Cameron, Seth, Adrianna, Miles, Leland, Madison, James, Domenic, and Carter; and two great-grandchildren, Kaiden and Saphira; and a brother, Jerry Dockery.
Private services will be held.
Burial will follow in Old Salem Cemetery.
