LEITCHFIELD, Ky. — Lendal D. Beasley, 87, of Leitchfield, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 18, 2022, at Grayson Nursing and Rehabilitation. He was born on May 5, 1935, in Caneyville, Kentucky, the son of the late Martin and Ollie Preston Beasley.

He was a devoted member of East Fairveiw General Baptist Church. He loved the Lord, his church family, and his friends. He was a member of the Caney Creek Ramblers bluegrass band where he sang and played the upright bass.

Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 49 years, Phyllis Jones Beasley; one sister, Fanny: and four brothers Wavie, Harold, Billy, and Frank.

He is survived by his son, Jeff Beasley (Michelle), of Clarkson, Kentucky; daughter, Frances Decker (Carl Jr.), of Caneyville; two granddaughters, Emily Beasley, of Caneyville, and Lindsay Beasley, of Beaver Dam; one step-grandson, Robert Banard, of Leitchfield; two great-granddaughters, Jessalyn Beasley and Emerie Millan, of Beaver Dam, Kentucky; four brothers, Doug (Tammy), Kenny and Cleat (Barbie) Beasley, of Brandenburg, Kentucky, and R.J. Beasley (Mary Lee), of Taylorsville, Kentucky; three sisters, Loretta Lawson (Phillip), of Taylorsville, Dolly Cecil (Chris) and Mary Lou Sanders; one sister-in-law, Wilma Beasley; and several nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday, Oct. 21, at the Dermitt Funeral Home in Leitchfield. Bro. Carl Decker Jr. will be officiating. Burial will be in the Rabbit Flat Cemetery.

Visitation will be at the Dermitt Funeral Home from 9 a.m. until time of services.
