BEAVER DAM, Ky. — Brenda Jean Stevens, 81, of Beaver Dam, formerly of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away on Monday, Oct. 17, 2022, at home surrounded by her family. She was born on April 26, 1941, to the late Welsie Embry and Lorene Small Embry Mason.
Brenda spent many years as a beautician as she owned and operated Natural Curl Beauty Shop in Louisville for many years until she retired. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, and auntie.
In addition to her parents, Brenda was preceded in death by her husband, Lester R. Stevens, and an infant brother.
Survivors include two sons, Tony (Brenda) Stevens, and Tom Stevens, both of Beaver Dam; three granddaughters, Melinda (Scotty) Frames, of Hartford, Kentucky, Amber Kraft Brown, of Louisville, and Kristal (Jeff) Tarrance, of Grayson County, Kentucky; seven great-grandchildren, Grant Parson, Abby Frames, Jade Kraft Brown, Alexis Brown, Jazmine Brown, Brooklyn Tarrance, and Eli Tarrance; one sister, Janice (Hugh) Schroader, of Florida; and several nieces and nephews, Donna (Larry) Parrish, Montye (Gene) Redmond, Steffany Bennington, Zach Nall, Darian Scrogham, Amiyah Miles, Eddie (Jeanine) Schroader, Trey (Haley) Schroader, Nick Schroader and Lisa Powell.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 22, at William L. Danks Funeral Home in Beaver Dam, Kentucky with Jeff Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in Sunnyside Cemetery in Beaver Dam. Friends may visit with the family from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. Friday and from 9 a.m. until the time of the service Saturday at the funeral home.
