**UPDATE** BEAVER DAM, Ky. — A Boil Water Advisory issued for Ohio County Water District customers served by the Windy Hill water tank along KY 2713 near KY 505 S has been lifted.

According to OVWD General Manager Eric Hickman, the samples have come back clear and the boil water advisory has been lifted by the Kentucky Division of Water for the area served by the Windy Hill water tank.

The water leak began around 9 p.m. Friday night and was found and isolated around 3:30 a.m. Saturday morning. Repairs of the leak were completed around noon Saturday. The crews repaired an 18″ main line out of the Windy Hill water tank along Highway 2713 near KY 505 South.

The moderate drought conditions in the area is causing the ground to shift and underground pipes do not do well under movement causing shear stresses and pipe failures. The OCWD has an expansive system with over 650 miles of lines and is the 5th largest water district in the state. Breaks are going to occur in conditions we are currently facing.
