Run the Ridge set for Oct. 1 on Jerusalem Ridge

ROSINE, Ky. — Fans of Bluegrass music and running have a fun new challenge ahead of them as the Bill Monroe Foundation will host the Run the Ridge Trail Run at 8 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 1.

The Run The Ridge 5K, 25K and 50K Trail Run is a culturally and historically significant event as runners will be traveling some of the same dirt roads and beautiful overlooks that the Father of Bluegrass Music Bill Monroe and his beloved Uncle Pen once traveled.

This will be a fun, but challenging event, with steep inclines and declines to navigate going up to the top of the Ridge and coming back down. The scenic course winds “high in the hills of ‘ol Kentucky” as Monroe put it.

The race will start and finish at the celebrated Bill Monroe Homeplace and will feature plenty of great bluegrass music and a few surprises along the trail.

Ba part of history as you run the internationally famous Jerusalem Ridge, just a mile or so from rustic Rosine.
