CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. — CSM (Ret) David J. Allen, 76, passed away on Saturday, Sept. 3, 2022. David entered into this life on July 13, 1946, son to the late Stanley and Loretta Leach Allen.
As a young man, David entered into active duty service with the US Army, serving a long and distinguished career. During his service to the country, David bravely served combat duty in Vietnam and the Middle East and attained the rank of Command Sergeant Major. After retirement, David enjoyed playing the guitar, fishing, and spending time with family.
In addition to his parents, David was preceded in death by his wife, Peggy Davis Allen.
Survivors include his children, David Kent Allen, Angela Rochelle Dougherty (Brad), and Teresa Ann Carson (Thomas). He was the loving grandfather to Joshua, Justin, and Noah Lapointe, Wes and Luke Dougherty, Makayla Naudet, Luke Schneider, Kristopher, and Jordan Carson, and great-grandfather to Wiley, Wade, Levi, Lane, Elijah, and one more on the way.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Sept. 9, at the chapel of McReynolds-Nave & Larson Funeral Home with Pastors Mike Taylor and George Garcia officiating. He will be laid to rest at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery West. Full Military Honors will be rendered. Members of the US Army Honor Guard will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be his grandsons, Justin, Jordan, Kristopher, Noah, Josh and Luke, and Thomas Carson.
David’s family will receive friends from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Thursday and again from 10 a.m. until the hour of service on Friday at the funeral home.
