BEAVER DAM, Ky. — Morris “Drex” Daugherty, 89, of Beaver Dam, went to his heavenly home on Saturday, Aug. 13, 2022, at his home. He was born Jan. 31, 1933, in Gilstrap, Kentucky, to the late Roma Daugherty and Buena Embry Daugherty.
Mr. Daugherty was a member of the Church of Christ and retired from Reynolds Metal (Alcoa).
Aside from his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Deverrel “Dee” Coy Weedman Daugherty; first wife, Emma Jean Snodgrass Daugherty; son, Douglas Daugherty; six brothers, Lee Thomas Daugherty, Eugene Daugherty, Darryl Daugherty, Glendon Daugherty, Lindon Daugherty, and Onis Daugherty; and four sisters, Velma Lanham, Vera Cochran, Reba Shelton and Mary Walker.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory, his stepdaughter, Debbie Davis, of Louisville, Kentucky; granddaughter, Melissa (Steven) Isaac; great-grandson, Xander; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 17, at William L. Danks Funeral Home in Beaver Dam with Patrick Daugherty officiating. Burial will follow in Sunnyside Cemetery in Beaver Dam. Friends may visit with Mr. Daugherty’s family from 10 a.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home.
