HORSE BRANCH, Ky. — Willard Lee Geary, 77, of Horse Branch, passed away on July 28, 2022, at Ohio County Healthcare. He was born Aug. 5, 1944, in Horse Branch, to the late Everett and Ruth (Raines) Geary.
Willard worked at Dunaway and the rock quarry when he was younger. Then retired from the City of Hartford as the city’s assistant director in the early 90’s.
Willard enjoyed hunting, fishing, working in the garden, working on the farm with Nick Woolen, along with picking his guitar.
Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Cecil and Leonard; sisters, Louanna and Geneva; sister-in-law, Betty Camp Jameson; and a special brother-in-law, Steve Riley.
Survivors include his wife, Janice Camp Geary; one son, Jason (Marissa) Geary, of Horse Branch; one daughter, Dianna (Oz) Ligon, of Henderson, Kentucky; the grandson he raised, Adam Geary; granddaughters, Mary Simpson (Ronald) and Cary Simpson (Bryon), and Mason Geary, his running buddy; great grandson, Eli Garland; a bonus son, Tony Hill; his vacation buddy, Tyler “Tink” Ferrie; brothers, Donald (Sarah), Charlie (Kay), Glen (Carolyn), Menard, and Thomas; sisters, Lilly Phelps (Jay), Martha Simpson (Kenny), and Debra Mae Jones (Terry); brothers-in-law, Douglas Camp and Forrest (Peggy) Jameson; sisters-in-law, Nancy Bailey(Charles), and Brenda Camp, and a very special sister-in-law, Debbie Camp; and several nieces and nephews.
Honoring Willard as pallbearers are Leon Geary, Billy Jameson, Travis Camp, Russell Camp, Tony Hill, Nick Woolen, Tyler Ferrie, Tyler Deweese, Adam Wright, and Beau Wright.
Services will be at Bevil Bros. in Beaver Dam, Kentucky. Visitation at the funeral home Sunday, July 31, from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. and Monday, Aug. 1, from 9 a.m. until time of the service at 2 p.m. with burial in Boyd Cemetery. Jared Camp will be officiating.
