HARTFORD, Ky. — The Help Office of Ohio County and the Ohio County Public Library will offer life skills classes in August at the library. the life skills classes will be specifically designed for Help Office clients and anyone else in the community who may be struggling with financial needs.
Four life skills classes will be offered at the Ohio County Public Library from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. on these dates:
- Aug. 8 – Stretching your Food Dollar
- Aug. 15 – Computer Skills/Job Search
- Aug. 22 – Financial Literacy & Strategies
- Aug. 29 – Budgeting
Participants may choose to attend any or all of these classes. Activities will be provided for the school-age children of those who attend.
Each participating household will receive a $25 gasoline voucher for each class attended. The vouchers are provided by a grant from WellCare Insurance.
If you know someone who would like to attend, they need to register by visiting the library website at www.ocplibrary.org. or call the Library at 270-298-3790. Class sizes are limited and those who wish to participate need to register as soon as possible.

The Help Office of Ohio County helps people in the community who need assistance with utility bills, emergency lodging, groceries and other needs. The Help Office is supported by donations from churches, people and the offerings of various community worship services.
The Help Office is open to clients at 10 a.m. on the second and fourth Thursday of each month at New Assembly Church at 425 KY 1543 in Hartford.
By combining the resources of several churches the Help Office is able to more efficiently and graciously help those who find themselves in a financial bind because of illness, unexpected expenses and other circumstances.
The Help Office is governed by a board of directors consisting of ministers and church leaders from several churches of various denominations in Ohio County.
