BEAVER DAM, Ky. — Kurt Crume, 83, of Beaver Dam, Kentucky, passed away Saturday, July 23, 2022, at Western Kentucky Veterans Center in Hanson, Kentucky. He was born Aug. 6, 1938, in Echols, Kentucky, to the late Homer D. Crume and Evelyn Burden Crume.
Mr. Crume was a retired contractor and member of Beaver Dam Baptist Church and Hartford Masonic Lodge 420 F&AM. He obtained a bachelor’s degree from Western Kentucky University and Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University. Mr. Crume proudly served in the United States Navy.
Aside from his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Jeanette Crume in 2008.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory, one son, Jeff Crume, of Raleigh, North Carolina; two daughters, Lisa Ashe, of Sylva, North Carolina, and Laura Driver, of Raleigh, North Carolina; two sisters, Elaine Haley, of Denver Colorado, Eleanor Southard of Beaver Dam; and four grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, July 31, at Beaver Dam Baptist Church in Beaver Dam, Kentucky with Rev. Glenn Armstrong officiating. Burial will follow in Pond Run Cemetery in Echols with full military honors by Ohio County Honor Guard. Friends may visit with Mr. Crume’s family from 1 p.m. until the time of the service on Sunday at the church.
