OWENSBORO, Ky. — Tuesday, July 12, 2022, the Green River District Health Department reported that in the previous week it had investigated 843 new COVID-19 infections; 463 in Daviess County, 28 in Hancock County, 150 in Henderson County, 26 in McLean County, 84 in Ohio County, 54 in Union County and 38 in Webster County.
For the region, there were 196 more new COVID-19 infections than in last week’s report. Ohio County had four more new COVID-19 infections than last week’s report. New COVID-19 infections have been on the rise over the last several weeks.
There was one COVID-19 death reported the previous week. The reported death was one resident of Henderson County. The average number of new cases in the district for that period was 120 new cases a day. The newly reported cases were investigated between July 4-10, 2022.

Levels can be low, medium, or high and are determined by looking at hospital beds being used, hospital admissions, and the total number of new COVID-19 cases in an area.
The COVID-19 Community Level is currently classified as low for Henderson, Union, and Webster Counties. Hancock, McLean and Ohio Counties are classified as medium. Daviess County is currently at a high COVID-19 Community Level.

- Stay up to date with COVID-19 vaccines and boosters.
- Wear a well-fitting mask in indoor public settings.
- If you are immunocompromised or high risk for severe disease, talk to your healthcare provider about whether you need or take other precautions. Those at high risk should consider avoiding non-essential indoor public activities.
- Follow CDC recommendations for isolation and quarantine, including getting tested if you are exposed to COVID-19 or have symptoms of COVID-19.
- People may choose to mask at any time. People with symptoms, a positive test, or exposure to someone with COVID-19 should wear a mask.
