FRANKFORT, Ky. — Kenneth Ray Barrett, 77, husband of Paulette Allen Barrett, passed away on Thursday, June 23, 2022. He was born in Hartford, Kentucky, on Aug. 6, 1944, to the late John Aubrey and Eula Rhea Wilson Barrett.
He worked for the Kentucky State Department of Transportation as a Civil Engineer and was a Veteran of the U.S. Army Reserves. Kenneth loved UK Basketball, Football, and playing cards. He was a great mentor to everyone and loved spending time with his family. He was always attending music recitals, plays, and ball games for the grandkids.
In addition to his wife of 56 years, he is survived by his son, Thad (Sonya) Barrett, of Georgetown, Kentucky; his daughter, Dawn Murphy, of Lexington, Kentucky; his sons-in-law, Steve Trimble and Randy Southworth; his sister, Sandra (Dowell) Taylor, of Beaver Dam, Kentucky; his brothers, William (Norma) Barrett, of Beaver Dam, and John D. (Lana) Barrett, of Beaver Dam; his grandchildren, Jonathan Barrett, Matthew (Caitlin) Trimble, Samuel Trimble, James Southworth, and Joseph Southworth; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Scarlett Southworth, and his brother, Robert Barrett.
Memorial service will be held at 5 p.m. on Thursday, June 30, at Clark Legacy Center, Versailles Rd. Memorial Visitation will be held from 3 p.m. until the time of service on Thursday, June 30, at the Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
