BEAVER DAM, Ky. — Edward Lee “Smitty” Smith, 76, of Beaver Dam, passed away Thursday, June 16, 2022, at his home, surrounded by his family. He was born October 28, 1945, in Ohio County, Kentucky, to the late Carl Frizzell and Edwina Bishop Frizzell.
Mr. Smith retired from WPT and was a Navy veteran.
Aside from his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Linda Mae Nabors Smith, on June 16, 2012, and brother, Rayburn Frizzell.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory two sons, John (Joanna) Smith, of Beaver Dam, and Joshua (Tara) Smith, of McHenry, Kentucky; one daughter, Tammy (Ricky) Calloway, of Beaver Dam; nine grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren; one brother, Carl Wayne (Debbie) Frizzell, of Hartford, Kentucky; and one sister, Shirlene Peters, of Beaver Dam.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, June 20, at William L. Danks Funeral Home in Beaver Dam, Kentucky with Bro. Brent Howard officiating. Burial will follow in Sunnyside Cemetery in Beaver Dam, Kentucky with full military honors by Ohio County Honor Guard. Friends may visit with Mr. Smith’s family from 3 p.m. until 7 p.m. Sunday and 9 a.m. until the time of the funeral Monday at the funeral home.
