HARTFORD, Ky. — Billy Ray Schroader, 73, of Hartford, departed this life on Friday, March 25, 2022, at his home with his family by his side. He was born on Feb. 12, 1949, in the Sunnydale community of Ohio County, Kentucky, to the late Claudie and Gaynell Pharris Schroader.
Billy was a United States Army Veteran of the Vietnam War, a self-employed carpenter, and a member of Horse Branch General Baptist Church. He was an avid woodworker, enjoyed collecting and raising honeybees, gardening, spending time with his grandkids, and going to church.
Aside from his parents, he was preceded in death by his grandson, Chaylin Ray Cowles.
He leaves behind to cherish many memories, his wife of 43 years, Brenda Schroader, of Hartford; three daughters, Ronnie Schroader, of Hartford, Tracy (Derek) Bailey, of Beaver Dam, Kentucky, and Stacy (Ben) Embry, of Rockport, Kentucky; four sons, Wayne (Melissa) Lamar, of Butler County, Kentucky, Jeff (Kellyn) Lamar, of Beaver Dam, Paul (Dorothy) Lamar, of McHenry, Kentucky, and Michael Lamar, of Beaver Dam; 20 grandchildren, Michelle, Derek, Kristyn, Dawson, Shelby, Madison, R.J., Jessie, Diedra, Kelsey, Ashley, Wayne, Lexie, Spencer, Brandi, Jordan, Britney, Cody, Raven and Seth; 30 great-grandchildren; one brother, Kenneth (Joyce) Schroader, of Hartford; four sisters, Rita Shocklee, of Hartford, Brenda (Kenny) Edge, of Hartford, Linda (Jerry) Whitley, of Hartford, and Vanessa (Larry) Morgan, of Rockport; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be held at 2 p.m., Tuesday, March 29, 2022, at Horse Branch General Baptist Church with Rev. Terry Tarrance officiating. Burial will follow at Horse Branch General Baptist Church Cemetery. Friends may visit with Billy’s family from 10 a.m. until the time of the service at the church.
