CENTERTOWN, Ky. — Viola Ann Casey, 81, of Centertown, went to her heavenly home on Tuesday, Feb. 15, 2022, at her home surrounded by her family. She was born Feb. 17, 1940, in Ohio County, Kentucky, to the late Alvie Matthews and Effie Bozarth Matthews.
Mrs. Casey was an inspector for Cowden’s and a devoted member of McHenry Baptist Church.
Aside from her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband of 47 years, Herbert Dee Casey; grandson, Joseph Dakota Casey; three daughters-in-law, Pat Casey, Jessica Casey, and Cynthia Casey; four brothers, Vernie Garland Matthews, Raymond Eugene Matthews, James Murl Matthews, and William Ray Matthews; two half-brothers, Henry Thomas Embry and Ray V. Embry; and two half-sisters, Dorothy Juanita Pruitt and Wanda Lee Embry.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory, two sons, Danny Dee Casey and Joseph Wayne (Tyanna Pauline) Casey, both of Centertown; eight grandchildren, Sandra Dee (Timothy) Bratcher, Crystal Hayes (Michael Matthews), Terinna (Dakota) Laughlin, Danny (Jasmine) Casey II, Sheena Casey, Sabrina (Matt) Casey, Ronnie (Brandy) Casey and Jeffery Casey; 21 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Charles Lewis (Linda) Matthews and Randell Allen (Donna) Matthews both of Henderson, Kentucky; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins, friends, and other family members that love and will miss her dearly.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 19, at William L. Danks Funeral Home in Beaver Dam, Kentucky with Bro. Brent Howard officiating. Burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery in Hartford, Kentucky. Friends may visit with Mrs. Casey’s family from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. Friday and from 9 a.m. until the time of the service on Saturday at the funeral home.
