OWENSBORO, Ky. — Lucian Turner Jr., 78, of Owensboro, passed away on Tuesday, Jan. 4, 2022, at Deaconess Gateway in Newburgh, Indiana. He was born March 29, 1943, in Ohio County, Kentucky to the late Lucian Turner Sr. and Wilma Louise Carden Turner.
Lucian worked as a mine supervisor for Peabody Coal Company for 33 years and retired from Patriot Mining. He was a U.S. Army veteran serving during Vietnam and of the Methodist faith. Lucian enjoyed golfing and mowing and loved spending time with his grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, James Turner.
He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Lynn Turner; children, Tara Fogle (David), Jamie Tate (Eydie), Laurie Turner (Eddie Lamar), John Turner (Misty), and Matthew Williams; nine grandchildren, Josh Fogle, Jacob Fogle, Lindsay Fogle, Emma Turner, Luke Turner, Addison Tate, Allie Turner, Audrey Tate, and Sydney Tate; two great-grandchildren, Jerzie Fogle and Joleen Fogle; and a brother, David Turner (Suki).
Funeral services will be at 6 p.m. on Friday in the chapel at James H. Davis Funeral Home & Crematory. Visitation is from 2 to 6 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home.
